The Gladstone Theatre Port Sunlight is situated in the garden village of Port sunlight in Wirral. It is run by the Gladstone Theatre Trust - a voluntary organisation - and presents both Amateur and Professional Shows. We have two resident Societies ( Port Sunlight Players and Bebington Dramatic Scociety ) who perform Comedy, Drama,Musicals, Pantomimes and all aspects of Youth work. The theatre is used by Local Operatic Societies, Musical Groups, Youth Organisations, and Dancing Schools. Each Spring there is a well established Drama Festival covering Youth and Adult work.
The Trust arranges an interesting mixed programme of Choral Work, Jazz, Folk and Clasical Concerts. Local Celebrities and Star names appear for One Night Stands. The Theatre is also used for meetings, seminars, rehearsals etc.
We aim to provide a Community Theatre with a warm and friendly atmosphere for the residents of Wirral.
The auditorium has a capacity of 422 seats + 4 spaces for wheelchair users and seats for their accompanying carers. The audience can enjoy performances in a warm, friendly and intimate atmosphere with all seats free from obstructed view of the stage.
With an upto date Lighting and Sound System, which includes an Induction Loop for the hearing impaired, performances are seen and heard at their best.
The Theatre Front of House Manager, Auditorium Stewards, and Bar Staff are there to assist patrons and ensure they experience a wonderful night at the Theatre.
