CARL SARGEANT WELCOMES LEAFLET TO PROMOTE SAFER ROADS FOR BIKERS IN NORTH WALES

Carl Sargeant Labour AM for Alyn & Deeside has welcomed the introduction of the new Ride Wales leaflet.
It is designed as part of the Wales by Bike campaign to tackle the high numbers of motorbike fatalities on roads in North Wales and is funded by Go Safe. It also has had major backing from Hollywood star Michael Sheen at a recent launch.
In 2010 alone, there were 20 fatalities on the North Wales roads, 8 of which were motorcyclists.
The leaflet gives tips for bikers about staying safe, information on the common causes of accidents and training advice. North Wales is a haven for bikers and so this leaflet can help to ensure that they can get the best experience whilst also staying safe on the roads.
Carl Sargeant AM said,
“There have been too many casualties on the North Wales roads in previous years and so this leaflet is a great initiative for promoting safer roads in the area. It ensures that bikers are aware of the risks and how to avoid them, whilst still enjoying the experience of our great area.”
The Ride Wales leaflet will be distributed to popular motorbike haunts and dealers across Wales and will also be available to download at www.walesbybike.com from the end of March. For more information on BikeSafe, visit www.bikesafe.co.uk
