Warrington Music Festival 2011 kicks off mid July and local clubs and pubs are being invited to host music events in the run up to the main musical extravaganza taking place at Golden Square shopping centre on July 15 and 16.

The festival, which is now in its 5th year and runs between July 9 and 16, will see its first ever dance night ‘Manik’ take place on Friday July 15 at Golden Square’s Old Marketplace, with top name DJs performing including Def Audio and Nick Hussey.

Saturday July 16 will see local bands performing on the main stage at the Old Marketplace throughout the whole day, with top bands Exile Parade, Bill Davro and The Ambersons rounding off the festival that evening.

Many more live acts and musical events will be happening across dozens of venues, bars and clubs within Warrington throughout the week.

Golden Square’s Marketing Manager Ian Cox said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the main stage for the music festival at the shopping centre again and look forward to welcoming a wealth of local musical talent.

“It’s a great opportunity to get the community involved and enjoying all different types of great music.”

Pyramid Parr Hall Event Manager, Christian Persoglio, said: “Over the past five years Warrington Music Festival has been a real encouragement for some great local bands to take flight and the event just gets bigger and better every year. We're pleased to be working in partnership with Golden Square again this year and look forward to bringing another first class festival to Warrington's doorstep.”
