Assembly Member, Mark Isherwood, is concerned that a Welsh Government fund to help small and medium businesses is not being adequately promoted in North Wales.

Mr Isherwood told the Business Minister, Edwina Hart, this week that the Federation of Small Businesses has expressed concern that the small and medium-sized enterprise investment fund is not being adequately promoted and that awareness among its members is patchy.

He therefore asked the Minister: “What action, therefore, are you taking to raise awareness of financial support schemes such as the SME investment fund in rural communities such as Arfon?”

The Minister replied: “It is important to recognise that we have had difficulty giving enough publicity to some of the funds that we have offered. I have asked officials to look at all our funds to see how we can make them more accessible and advertise them more effectively in light of some of the criticisms that have been given.”
