Warrington Wolves and Everton FC have joined forces with Golden Square Shopping Centre to urge children to ‘Get Active’ during this half term.

The event, called ‘Get Active’ marks the launch of the shopping centre’s new family website www.go-together.co.uk , offering local families news, exclusive offers and information on future kids events being held in the centre.

Five packed days of free activities are being held in an astro-turfed ‘playzone’ in the Old Market Square at the centre from Monday 30th May to Friday 3rd June, between 11am and 4pm every day, for children aged 3-11:

·         Monday - Youngsters on their half term break can watch live spectacular shows from the Football Freestylers and then get the chance to join in and learn some skills and tricks from these amazing players.

·         Tuesday – Coaches from Everton FC will be inviting future Premiership stars to take part in training sessions with them throughout the day.

·         Wednesday - A visit from Cheshire Jets basketball coaches will give budding basketball players the chance to shine and rub shoulders with some of the region’s top players.

·         Thursday - Warrington Wolves coaches and players will be helping youngsters touch up their rugby skills and Wolfie will also be here with the Challenge Cup.

·         Friday - Warrington StagePro Academy dance school will be performing everything from hip-hop to zumba and street dance to keep the crowds happy as well as offering kids the opportunity to give it a go.

Golden Square’s Marketing Manager Ian Cox said: “This event marks the start of a jam-packed calendar of kids events here in the centre.

“‘Get Active’ is all about getting children involved in any kinds of sports activity and making it enjoyable for them.

“We have a great line-up of sporting talent for the week and I think it will be fun for all the family to enjoy during the half term- and it’s all free.

“So it you want to keep busy and get active this half term come along and join in.”
