Chester Bach Singers is one of the finest chamber choirs in North West England and the flagship choir for Chester.

Best known for its critically acclaimed performances of baroque music, especially Bach and Handel and with a burgeoning reputation for championing the music of contemporary British composers, Chester Bach Singers performs a broad spectrum of choral music from the fifteenth to twenty-first centuries.

Much in demand with neighbouring orchestras, they have performed with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Chetham’s School of Music Symphony Orchestra and The Eighteenth Century Concert Orchestra as well as with the Chester Bach Orchestra. The choir have performed in venues such as Leeds Town Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Tewkesbury Abbey, Manchester Cathedral and St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Chester Bach Singers are keen to share their passion for outstanding musical performance with others and regularly host workshops and singing days which attract singers of all ages from across the north of England. These popular events have provided the opportunity to work with renowned conductors such as Jeffrey Skidmore and David Hill.

The choir has a particular commitment to encouraging the musical development of young people: within the choir through their Young Singer scheme; through their well-established and rewarding relationship with Chetham’s School of Music; and through collaborations with local school choirs – a highlight being a joint performance with St David’s School, Saltney in Chester Cathedral.
