The wide and varied range of plants that we grow at Bodnant Garden Tal-y-Cafn Nr Colwyn Bay Conwy will provide you with an enjoyable and rewarding visit whatever the time of year.

Spring flowering by the river SPRING
In early Spring (March - late April) be enchanted by the magnificence of the Camellias, Magnolias, Daffodils and other Spring bulbs.
From early April to the middle of May is the time to see the beautiful collection of Rhododendrons. The Japanese and deciduous Azaleas are usually at their best in late May and early June as is the famous Laburnum Arch, a 55 metre long tunnel with an overwhelming mass of yellow hanging flowers. Springtime at the Garden is a great attraction and draws people from all over the world.

Laburnum Arch SUMMER
Throughout the summer months the grand series of Terraced Gardens are very colourful with herbaceous borders, roses, water lilies, clematis and many unusual wall shrubs and climbers.
In the lower part of the garden, where the giant conifers grow, the shade loving herbaceous plants are in flower as well as the blue flowering hydrangeas growing on the riverbanks which add to the wonderful tranquility of the "Dell" garden.
In August and September, many of the national collection of Eucryphias are out in flower and provide a special feature for the plant enthusiast.

Autumn in the Garden

AUTUMN
October visits are rewarded by the sight of many berrying trees and dazzling displays of autumnal leaf foliage - in varying shades of reds, greens, purples and golds.
Our picture here shows the stunning view in autumn from the Top Rose Terrace, looking down the terraces to the mountains beyond.
