Chester Racecourse Racing Fixtures for 2010 The timeless charm of the natural amphitheatre, the quality of the turf, and the close proximity of the spectators to the course combine to create a unique atmosphere at Chester Racecourse.The season starts with a bang at the May Festival and some of the best racing of the season, including the famous Chester Cup and the two Epsom Derby trials, the Dee Stakes and the Chester Vase.At each meeting during the summer, the roar of the crowd rises as the horses enter the Home straight and head for the winning post under Chester's historic City Walls, creating great scenes for all who are there.For general enquiries, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Betting bars and cateringThere are numerous open air and covered bars, catering services and betting facilities in all areas of the Racecourse. Personal stocks of food and drink, including alcohol, are not permitted in any enclosure other than the Open Course. Alcohol is only permitted in the Open Course area for personal consumption. Private stocks of alcohol are not permitted in any other area of the course. In the County Stand, the Tattersalls Stand and the Paddock area, the consumption of all drink, including alcohol, is restricted to designated areas. In the County Stand Long Room seating area, no drinks are permitted, except on certain racedays.Booking deadlines and expected sell out time scaleAnnual Members' badges and County Stand badges for the May Festival Thursday and Friday are likely to sell out in January. We would like to advise Annual Members wishing to purchase extra County Stand badges that availability cannot be guaranteed after 31st December.Car ParkingCar parking is on the Open Course and only for cars with a car pass. Car passes can be purchased in advance from the ticket office or from pay lane booths on race days. On Sunday Funday only, car parking will be operated on a first come first served basis.ChildrenChildren accompanied by an adult, below the age of 16 are admitted free of charge to all stands and enclosures for all fixtures.Coach ParkingCoach parking is available on the Little Roodee, next to the Racecourse, for all fixtures apart from the May Festival when parking is available at Saddlery Way. This is only for coaches with a coach pass. Passes must be purchased in advance from the ticket office. The Little Roddee is a 10-minute walk from the Watergate Square main entrance to the Racecourse. Coaches must not drop off outside the Racecourse. A coach pass costs £15.DogsDogs (except aide dogs) are not allowed into the course on racedays.Dress CodeCustomers in the County Stand Long Room and Concourse and in all hospitality and restaurant facilities, are required to observe a strict dress code. Gentlemen are required to wear a suit jacket, collar and tie, Ladies are required to wear smart dress and no Denim or Trainers allowed. The Racecourse reserves the right to prohibit racegoers who are incorrectly dressed from entering designated areas.First AidFirst Aid posts are situated in the Open Course near to the main Paddock Entrance at the far end of the Parade Ring, on the Open Course and in the Dee Stand. The main Medical Centre is located behind the Leverhulme Stand in the Director´s Car Park.HelicoptersFor helicopter landing facilities, please call Chester Race Company on 01244 304 610 or for light aircraft landing facilities, please call Air Traffic Control on 01244 522 012/3. Helicopters are not allowed to land on the course on the following racedays: Saturday 27th June and Sunday 2nd August.Lost or stolen Badges or TicketsUnfortunately, these cannot be replaced. Please ensure your badge / ticket is kept safe at all times.Refunds and CancelationsChester Race Company Ltd cannot refund tickets or hospitality reservations for which payment has already been received. Refunds will only be made in the event that racing is abandoned.PicnicsFamilies are welcome to bring picnics to the Open Course during race meetings.Security Checks of Tickets and BadgesAll tickets and badges will be barcode scanned on entry. Numbers on metal badges issued to Annual Members will also be recorded on entry.Senior Citizens & StudentsDiscounted tickets are available to Senior Citizens and NUS Cardholders (on proof of identity). These tickets allow a £5 discount on Tattersalls tickets and a £2 discount on Dee and Open Course tickets. Please note, this is subject to availability on the race day itself. It is not possible to benefit from this discount on tickets purchased in advance.Smoking PolicyTo create a comfortable environment for all of our racegoers, a smoking ban will be implemented in all of Chester Racecourse's enclosed public spaces on race days. |
