This County Show presents hundreds of top quality locally bred and reared stock from both sides of Offas Dyke. Top Judges pass their expert eye over some of the finest animals exhibited by knowlegable farmers and top handlers alike - keeping this the heart of the Denbigh and Flint Show.
In our cattle area, expect to see Holsteins, Jerseys, Shorthorn and Ayrshires in the Dairy section. The magnificent Welsh Blacks as they battle for points in this qualifying round of the 'Bull and Female of the Year' competition. See the traditional Hereford along side British Charolais,Limousin, Belgian Blue and Simmental, leading to the Commercial Beef section.
Call at the Countryside area to see and learn about a rural way of life. Speak with conservationists, gamekeepers, woodsmen and foresters to see how man works to in the modern day to help maintain the balance of nature.
Two full-time rings and 2 major competitions in the Main Ring give a wide choice of Showjumping viewing at the Show. The Flint Ring hosts competitions for New Recruits, 1st Round Junior 90cm Open, Junior Newcomers 1st Round 1m Open and the 1st Round Junior Open - all affiliated to the B.S.J.A.
The Horticulture, Floral Art and Honey marquee hosts an array of displays that all of us can aspire to achieve.
With classes for Juniors to make Miniature Gardens, Vegetable Animals, Collages from Plant Materials and present a Vase of Flowers, the under 16's can play a big part in this area, and there is no entry charge for their exhibits! Spectacular vegetables and magnificent blooms show the best of the summer offerings that our dedicated growers bring to display.
Move through to the Floral Art section, and wonder at the skills and flair as the various themes are depicted through the medium of flowers.
Call at the Honey section and see the wonders of a working bee hive and learn about the skills of managing these industrious little workers.
The Food Hall at the Denbigh and Flint show was first piloted in 2002, with support from CadwynClwyd to huge success.
The Food Hall is growing in size and hopes to be bigger and busier than ever. There were over 30 stands at the 2009 Show. This years Food Hall is sponsored by such firms as Parc Farm Caravan Park, South Caernarfon Creameries and Calor Gas.
Having a more Rural feel these past few years, the Food Hall retains its popularity with Show visitors and reflects the wide diversity of cuisine in this area.
Some 15-20 food companies will normally exhibit at the hall giving visitors a chance to sample their range of local quality produce and take some back home! Produce will range from cheese, meat, alcoholic drinks, pate, local baked goods, preserves, chocolates and much much more!
The Edward Jones ring in the Vintage area provides all day entertainment to the Vintage and Classic enthusiast. The rare and the unusual join forces with such stalwarts of the industry as the Fergie bach. Each year sees the section spotlighting a car or machine and will provide a taste of how the work progressed from the majestic Shire Horse to the advances given by tractor mounted implements.
Classic and Vintage Cars of yesteryear balance the display – chat to the owners and hear wonderful stories of how their magnificently restored or cared for vehicle started life.
Visit the Stationery Engine section – the steady putt-putt of these machines introduces you to the early mechanisation that proved so invaluable to many rural dwellings.
