Explore the world of science through fresh eyes

The Wrexham Science Festival returns in July, and will include a whole host of talks, workshops and demonstrations to get you thinking about science. Events will be based around four themes – Earth and the Universe, Animal World, Human Mind & Body, and Bright Sparks.

Highlights of this year’s Festival will include:

• An update on the work being done on the Large Hadron Collider to answer some of the most fundamental questions in physics

• A look at some of the pioneering composites research under way in the region to transform air travel

• Special events to mark the International Year of Chemistry and the International Year of Forests

• The return of the Science Junkies with their unique look at the science behind extreme sports

• A fascinating insight into a project to research the DNA ancestry of men in North Wales
