Group Visits to Chester Cathedral | Print |

Chester Cathedral is a wonderful place for a group visit with something to interest everyone. The building itself is a medieval masterpiece and contains some really extraordinary things to see, including the shrine of a saint, incomparable  fourteenth century wood carving, huge Victorian mosaics and the only surviving old church court in the country.

To really appreciate everything, a Guided Tour is essential; and tours can be pre - booked with our experienced Cathedral Guides who will not only inform you about the history and architecture of the building but will also tell you some of the extraordinary stories that accumulate in a place as old as this. Tours can be tailored for your particular group so just let us know if you have a specific area of interest or if you have a deadline to meet and we will do our best to accommodate you.

A number of group packages are on offer, including coffee on arrival, lunch or afternoon tea plus the tour of the building; your group can even book an exclusive evening dinner and tour which includes a candlelit service in one of the medieval chapels – an unforgettable experience!

The Cathedral Shop offers a wonderful range of souvenirs, cards, music, books, jewellery, religious items, sweets, puppets and gifts for all ages, seasons and occasions. A new souvenir guidebook of the Cathedral with superb full colour photographs will be available soon.
