What is the Wirral Boxing Day Dip?
The Wirral Boxing Day Dip is an unusual way of raising funds for charity by running into West Kirby Marine Lake on Boxing Day!
West Kirby Marine Lake is situated on the picturesque Banks of the Dee estuary at West Kirby, Wirral.
The Boxing Day Dip will take place at 11am, Boxing Day 2011 at the North end (Morrisons end) of the lake.
We welcome spectators at our dip as the more noise you can make, the easier it is for us to run into the icy water!
The event, now in its 3rd year (2011) is the brainchild of John McGowan, after he spotted a gap in the market in the Wirral to help local charities by doing something a little bit silly and the “Boxing Day Dip” was born.
The event this year is being kindly sponsored by Wood-N-Stuff
When you sign up to take part in the event, we will send you sponsorship forms, and set you up with an online fundraising account to help you raise funds.

The event will take place at 11am on Boxing Day at the "Morrisons" end of the marine lake at West Kirby. registration will be open from 9am.

There is no minimum sponsorship this year, however participants are asked to raise sponsorship for the Wirral Based, Northern Lights Childrens Charity.
