Based on his book of the same title, Anthony will look at visitor factors, education, conservation, commercial and marketing of 80 zoos in 21 European countries.
Anthony spent 3 years extensively researching for his book, meeting and interviewing zoo personnel and analysing many aspects of zoos. In addition, he will look at Chester Zoo and UK zoos in more detail.
Anthony will also include a look at his In situ Conservation Project, Yellow-cheeked Crested Gibbons in Nam Nung Reserve, Vietnam, to which all profits from the book are being donated.

For many people, an African, South American or Asian wildlife safari is simply out of the question.
In this talk, Ron will demonstrate how a family day out to a zoo, aquarium or wildlife park can become a photographic safari in its own right.
There will be indispensable hints and tips for any hobby wildlife photographer; from the basics of planning the visit and selecting the right equipment to guidance on specific groups of animals.
Ron will guide the keen amateur through the steps which can make every zoo visit an enjoyable and memorable one.
The talk will be illustrated by a selection of Ron’s own images, now available in book form, and will include a summary of the publishing process.
