We work to fund research to advance our understanding of cancer for the people of Merseyside and Cheshire. Our research focuses on how to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, as well as understanding how to provide the most effective ongoing care for cancer patients.Our reasons for doing this are simple. In Merseyside and Cheshire, we have the worst cancer mortality rates in the country. In fact, as a resident of the region, the reality is that you are 35% more likely to die from cancer compared with the national average. We aim to level the playing field by investing in research which takes place right in the heart of our region and directly benefits every resident of Merseyside and Cheshire. The more money we can invest in cancer research, the more lives we can save in our region.Clatterbridge Cancer Research is an independent charity which receives no NHS funding.
